Arthur Cadre, break dancer: “Mainstream entertainment does not prevent creative research”
Between shows in Las Vegas (USA), Riyadh and Paris, the dancer-breaker, acrobat and director Arthur Cadre is stopping off in the arenas of Nîmes, for which he has designed a show entitled Le Rêve du gladiateur . The man who played the "golden traveler" during the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is calling for large-scale productions to take the spectator out of the usual formats and generate new emotions. From August 8 to 15, he will bring together a team of 190 artists every evening in front of 12,000 spectators.
One year later, how do you view your participation in the closing ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games, directed by Thomas Jolly?Finding myself dancing at the Stade de France was a crazy experience. I loved creating this "golden traveler" character that became super iconic and confirmed my place as an artist. A year later, people still talk to me about it everywhere I go, in France and around the world. I was invited to appear in the show of the German singer and actress Helene Fischer. In February, with the Dragone company, I created Souk Wonders in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a huge souk, with restaurants and performances, which was on display for a month. I collaborated with 50 contemporary dancers and 30 traditional performers, all from Riyadh. It's exciting to see how they, who don't have legal dance schools to train in, progress technically in a month.
